Sensex drops over 30 points in morning trade

At 9.25am, the 30-share Sensex lost 0.16%, or 33.40 points, to 20,857.42 points.


Mumbai: The Indian stock market lost over 30 points in early trade on Wednesday after gaining for the last four days, as Asian stock market showed mixed trend.
At 9.25am, the Sensex lost 0.16%, or 33.40 points, to 20,857.42 points, while the National Stock Exchange’s broader 50-share Nifty dropped 0.18%, or 11.35 points, to 6,192.
The BSE Bankex lost 0.88% to be the biggest loser among sectoral indices.
The gainers were Sesa Sterlite Ltd that rose 1.46% to Rs.187.60, Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd that jumped 1.13% to Rs.956.30, while Tata Consultancy Services Ltd gained 0.85% to Rs.2,047.45
Among the losers, ICICI Bank Ltd dropped 1.68% to Rs.1,064.45, Housing Development Finance Corp. Ltd lost 0.96% to Rs.810.50, while Infosys Ltd lost 0.73% to Rs.3418.50.
On BSE, 573 stocks advanced, 312 stocks declined and 31 remained unchanged.

NEW DELHI: SBI Life Insurance plans to relaunch about 10 products by January 1 as part of regulatory compliance to make the policies more customer-friendly.

"We have some approval from the regulator IRDA. I think we would relaunch about 10 products," SBI Life Insurance Managing Director Atanu Sen told PTI.
