Rupee opens higher against dollar

Mumbai: The Indian rupee on Monday opened higher at 62.66 a dollar against Friday’s close of 62.8650.
The dollar index, which measures the US currency’s strength against
major currencies, was trading at 80.772, up 0.08% from the previous
close of 80.708.
The yield on India’s 10-year benchmark bond was trading at 9.111%, compared with Friday’s close of 9.102%.
At 9.17 am, the local unit was trading at 62.62, up
0.39%. India’s benchmark index, Sensex, is trading at 20326.66 points,
up 0.54%.
