Rupee falls to breach 63 per dollar in morning session

The rupee loses 0.16% to 63.04 per dollar compared with its previous close of 62.94

Mumbai: The Indian rupee weakened on Friday to trade below the 63 per dollar mark, as Asian markets showed a mixed trend and dealers awaited fresh cues to trade.
At 9.32am, the Indian currency was trading at 63.04 per dollar, down 0.16% from its previous close of 62.94.
The BSE benchmark Sensex gained 0.27%, or 55 points, to 20,280.26 in early trade.
Since January this year, the rupee has lost 12.79% against the dollar and is third biggest loser among Asian currencies after the Indonesian rupiah and the Japanese yen, which lost 16.51% and 14.31%, respectively.
