THE Australian dollar is almost unchanged against the US dollar in cautious trade ahead of the release of August employment figures.
At 0630 AEST on Thursday, the local unit was trading at 91.57 US cents, a touch up from 91.56 cents on Wednesday.
The Australian sharemarket is tipped to open higher following overnight gains on Wall Street.
The September share price index futures contract is up 18 points at 5,595.
