Sensex closes 12 points lower amid mixed Asian cues
BSE Auto index loses 1.21% to be the biggest loser among sectoral indices; Sensex ends 0.06% lower at 20,217.39 points
Mumbai: The benchmark BSE Sensex on Friday lost 12 points as Asian markets showed a mixed trend.
Sensex ended 0.06%, or 11.66 points, lower at 20,217.39 points,
while the National Stock Exchange’s broader 50-share Nifty lost 0.06%,
or 3.6 points, to 5,995.45 points.
The BSE Auto index lost 1.21% to be the biggest loser among sectoral indices.
The gainers were Oil and Natural Gas Corp. Ltd that rose 2.79% to Rs.278.15, Tata Steel Ltd, up 2.44% to Rs.392, and GAIL (India) Ltd, which gained 2.08% to Rs.328.40.
Among the losers, Sesa Sterlite Ltd dropped 2.79% to Rs.174.35, Tata Motors Ltd declined 2.43% to Rs.373.25 and Bajaj Auto Ltd lost 2.15% to Rs.1,893.45.
